Classification Wire Ropes
provide an excellent balance between fatigue and
wear resistance. It is a very popular, general purpose
rope that will give long service with moderately
sized sheaves and drums, and is often used for hoists,
boom hoists, haulage ropes and slings. |

Classification Wire Ropes
have a third layer of wires which make them more
flexible, although less abrasion-resistant than
ropes of the 6 x 19 class. Each strand contains
numerous, comparatively small diameter wires which
offer superior bending ability. As the number of
wires in each strand increases, flexibility increases.
Often used on winches and as hoist ropes on overhead
and mobile cranes. |

Rotation-Resistant
Wire Rope is a special class
of rope designed to resist the tendency to spin
or rotate under load. This is achieved by laying
6 strands around the core in one direction, then
laying 12 strands around the first operation in
another direction. It is often used for hoisting
unguided loads with a single part rope. This unique
design does, however, impose certain limitations
on the rope's application and handling. |

Is selected for its excellent
corrosion-resistant qualities and is often used
in light hoisting and rigging applications. Its
chromium content forms an impervious protective
barrier against corrosive environments. More expensive
and weaker than comparably sized galvanized aircraft
cable. |

x 19 Galvanized Aircraft Cable (Go

Is a common industry term
for small diameter, corrosion-resistant, zinc-coated
wire rope originally designed for aeronautical applications.
It is a flexible and inexpensive cable used on winches,
guy lines and numerous other commercial, industrial
and marine applications. |
|
| Also
available with a flexible, vinyl P.V.C. coating to extend
the cable's life by protecting wires from abrasion, dirt,
grit and moisture, sealing in lubrication and reducing
wear on sheaves and pulleys. Also protects hands, clothes
and other materials it contacts. |

Constructex®
Rope
Is a coreless rope made of
three 7-wire strands, three 24-wire strands and
three 40-wire strands which are closed in one operation
and lightly swaged to give the finished strands
a triangular shape. The result of this unique construction
is a rope that gives longer life, less wear on both
rope and equipment, higher strength, increased crush
resistance and improved flexibility. |
